We decided to test some heart shaped hand pies the week before Valentine's Day....because....well they're darned cute! The dough is the same all butter dough we use for mini and full sized pies and it turned out super flaky for the hand pies after baking. We just used some of the blueberry and cherry filling we use in the pies we typically bake - just a spoon full did the trick. The glaze is a mix of sifted powdered sugar and milk. For the coloring in the glaze we use Americolor gels, their colors are always so vibrant! We love these little pies so much that we will be making them in different shapes and will be selling them at the markets.
